Lillygol's Presentation

Wow. That is all I can say at the moment. Even though the laws on clothing and censoring was disturbing it is not what caught my attention. The fact that the government kills people to inject fear into minds is just mind boggling. How they got away with it, I don't know. At first I thought the stuff in Persepolis was just a book. When I saw the videos of the protests I was bewildered at what I was seeing. The amount of "Ruach" ,Hebrew for spirit, was outstanding. The way the whole country came together to fight for what they believed in was truly amazing.
I had always seen on TV the riots going on there and the police trying to contain the surge of human beings, and I had always thought that the people were crazy. After she came to speak to us my mind was twisted and turned around by this but after a while it made sense and it looked like something worth fighting and dying for.
Wow. That is all I can think of, just wow.

The only habits of mind that i see are mindfulness and perspective. That's pretty much all we needed to make this blog. Noah hit the main points of her presentation and shows evidence of change of mind. This is all old stuff to me but reviewing it and watching and reading other peoples views on it was truly interesting. Noah, you did it!!! lol

When I was reading the first couple sentences It seemed that he was really shocked of what was going on in Iran some of the things that he said was that persepolis was a book and he saw the real thing he said he felt like a citizen in Iran and understood how they felt. He got the point straight and ad good examples.

Noah, I could definitely feel how shocked you were. Even though Persepolis is a memoir it is different how you can get more emotionally attached when you meet someone who has witnessed and experience mistreatment. You hit on a very key point which was the injection of fear and threats and how it is a manipulative tool.
